Wildland Fire Origin and Cause Determination

Description:

The primary purpose of this course is to provide a consistent knowledge and skill base for the Wildland Fire Investigator (INVF). The concepts taught in this course will help an INVF perform at an acceptable level on a national basis without regard to geographic boundaries. The course is presented by lectures, electronic presentations, field exercises, and class discussion.

Course Dates:

  • Classroom- May 28-30 and June 5

  • Manipulative (at CPFD Fire School)- June 4

  • Classroom hours are 0900-1700 hrs

Prerequisite:

Current Investigators have first priority.

Dress Code:

Station uniform for classroom. Participants will also need wildland PPE, including: helmet, fire shelter, wildland shirt or jacket, boots, eye protection, and gloves.

Staffing:

No overtime or backfill is authorized.
