Description:
This USFA/DHS course is designed for those who are assigned or desire to be assigned to function on a Type 3 All-Hazards Incident Management Team (AHIMT) during a large or complex incident, typically extending into multiple operational periods. The Type 3 AHIMT can either support an existing ICS structure, or can assume command of an incident if requested to do so. The Type 3 AHIMT manages an incident to its conclusion or can ease the transition to a National IMT for large scale, long duration, or complex incidents. The Course format provides multiple opportunities for application of AHIMT skills through numerous exercises and simulations. Participant should be, or plan to be, members of local, regional, or state sponsored AHIMTs. All-Hazards IMTs can provide the critical difference in a jurisdiction’s ability to manage a large scale or more complex incident or event and relies on members with experience in their disciplines (fire protection, law enforcement, emergency medical services, emergency management, public works, etc.) to be truly All-Hazards in nature and capability.
