HELICOPTER CREW CHIEF
Firefighter/Paramedic Rescuer
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Air Operations section periodically recruits for the position of Firefighter/Paramedic Rescuer to fill anticipated openings.
As openings permit, selected candidates will be administratively assigned to the Air Operations section for a period not to exceed six months.
SCHEDULE & TRAINING
Selected candidates are typically assigned to a 9/80 work schedule for a duration of two weeks to complete the required training. During these two weeks, training will consist of duties and responsibilities of a helicopter Firefighter/Paramedic Rescuer. Once trained and qualified, personnel will be eligible to work as a helicopter Firefighter/Paramedic Rescuer.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Rank of Firefighter
• Qualified and accredited in Orange County as a Paramedic (minimum of one year experience)
• Supervisory Performance Evaluation of Standard or above
• Swift Water Rescue
HIGHLY DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
• S-270 - Basic Air Operations
• S-290 - Intermediate Wildland Fire Behavior
• Rescue Systems 1

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Air Operations section periodically recruits for the position of Helicopter Crew Chief to fill anticipated openings.
SCHEDULE & TRAINING
Selected candidates are typically assigned to a 9/80 work week for a duration of twelve (12) weeks to complete the required training. During these twelve (12) weeks, training will consist of performing the duties and responsibilities of a Helicopter Crew Chief.
Once trained and qualified, personnel will be eligible to work as a Helicopter Crew Chief. Air Operations shift work includes a 48/96 or 4/10 work schedule.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Current Fire Captain with at least three (3) years of experience as a Fire Captain
• Supervisory Performance Evaluation with Rating of Standard or Above
• Rescue Systems 1
• Swift Water Rescue
• S-290 - Intermediate Fire Behavior
HIGHLY DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
• S270 - Basic Air Operations
• S-271 - Helicopter Crew Members
