DESCRIPTION:
Each year, the Southern California Association of Foresters and Fire Wardens brings together close to 200 people from different fire protection agencies for a two-day annual conference with programs relating to the training and safety of members involved in wildland fire control.
Attendees should come prepared to spend the night on Thursday in order to enjoy the full benefits of the Conference Agenda.
An outstanding program agenda with some dynamic speakers, an excellent vendor display, some great meals, some fun entertainment, and some great networking with peers, coworkers, friends, acquaintances, and other professionals from different departments.
Items that Conference Attendees should bring to Camp would include a pillow, sleeping bag or other bedding, shower towel, change of clothes, sensible shoes, any needed prescribed medications, shaving gear, and any toiletries that may be needed (soap, shampoo, Deodorant, etc.).
STAFFING:
No backfill, holdover, or overtime is authorized.
COST:
JAC funds sponsor the conference registration which includes lodging and meals.
JAC funds do not cover staffing or transportation for selected students.
SELECTION PROCESS:
Submit your interest by: Friday, April 5, 2024
Up to 50 OCFA personnel are approved to attend the conference.
The Operations and Training Section will review the list of interested personnel.
Those selected will be notified by e-mail.
