EMS Paramedic Training Captain
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The duties of the EMS Training Captain involve:
• Planning, organizing, coordinating and evaluating of specific activities within the EMS Section
• Conduct analysis of various data elements for the purpose of training and assessment considerations relative to the EMS section
• Develop, revise, and forward various written communications both internally and externally
• Respond to large scale incidents requiring staffing of various components of the Medical Group and/or Rehab Group.
• Engage in pre-incident planning activities to ensure proper resources, personnel, and equipment are allocated to events that have the potential for significant EMS involvement

SCHEDULE & TRAINING
The EMS Paramedic Training Captain requires a two year commitment to a 9/80 or 4/10 work schedule based on section manager need.

COMPENSATION
• The selected individual is usually eligible to receive staff and paramedic incentive pay. Additionally, the individual selected may participate in the safety officer program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Rank of Fire Captain (non-probationary status)
• Instructor 1A and 1B or equivalent
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work closely with others
• Strong knowledge of the OCMEDS system, OCEMS policies and OCFA SOP's
• Strong written communication and computer skills
• OCFA accredited paramedic in good standing
